Enjoy a tipple the Cornish way

Cornwall certainly has something to talk about when it comes to the traditional foods from the region but equally you can certainly be served with a full menu of beverages to enjoy the odd tipple or two.

The county’s landscape is perfectly primed in producing a whole host of wonderful drinks from the soft ones of tea, coffee and cordials through to craft beers, ciders, wines and spirits, making the region a bit of a drink’s mecca too. It’s mild climate and long sunlight hours mean it’s the perfect region for wine making and having planted its first in 1978, now boasts proudly 8 vineyards across the region.

WINE

Cornish winemakers produce everything, rose, red and white and sparkling wines. Although over two thirds of wine produced in Cornwall is sparkling. Cornish vineyards currently selling wine are:

• Bosue
• Camel Valley
• Knightor
• Looe valley
• Polmassick
• Polgoon
• Trevibban Mill

MEAD, Cornish Mead Co

COFFEE, Yallah Coffee Roasters

They roast really tasty coffee from their barn in Cornwall and they love what they do. The products sold and the work they do promote social, economic and environmental prosperity while minimising the impact of their company. They import coffee by sail, provide financial traceability, buy specialty coffee direct and use 100% plastic-free packaging wherever possible. Plus, their roastery is powered by renewable energy, last year contributing net positive 13MWh of energy to the National Grid.

CORDIAL, Polgoon

Polgoon is dedicated to producing a range of artisan Cornish wines, ciders and juices on the family-run vineyard and orchard in Penzance, Cornwall.

GIN, Tarquins Gin

There is something here for every pallet! What are you waiting for…surely all this gives you even more reason to come and stay!

On the days you are not out exploring come and enjoy some of Cornwall's finest beverages at The Old Mill bar.
