Charteroak Holiday Lodges in CornwallCharteroak Holiday Lodges in Cornwall

We’re delighted to announce that Stonerush Lakes has been named Best Holiday Park at the Sykes Gem Awards 2026.

The award is a proud achievement for everyone connected with Stonerush Lakes and recognises the qualities that make the park such a special place to stay and own a holiday lodge.

Nestled within peaceful Cornish countryside near Lanreath, Stonerush Lakes offers a secluded setting where guests can slow down, reconnect and enjoy a genuine escape from everyday life. Lakes, woodland and open countryside create a calm natural backdrop, while the south Cornwall coast and some of the county’s most attractive towns and villages are within easy reach.

A distinctive Cornish escape

Stonerush Lakes is home to a varied collection of thoughtfully designed holiday lodges, offering everything from romantic retreats for two to spacious accommodation for families and groups of friends. Many of the lodges have private hot tubs or other features designed for relaxation, as well as outdoor spaces overlooking the water, woodland or surrounding countryside.

Inside, guests can expect comfortable living spaces, well-equipped kitchens and the freedom to enjoy their break at their own pace. Some lodges also offer individual touches such as spa facilities, cinema rooms and outdoor bathing, giving guests the opportunity to choose a stay that feels particularly special.

The park’s peaceful atmosphere makes it well suited to restful breaks throughout the year. Summer brings long evenings outside, while autumn and winter offer woodland colours, crisp countryside walks and cosy evenings back at the lodge. Its location also makes Stonerush Lakes an excellent base for discovering south Cornwall. The traditional fishing villages of Looe and Polperro, the harbour town of Fowey and the landscapes of Bodmin Moor are all accessible from the park, alongside beaches, coastal walks and some of Cornwall’s best-known attractions.

Dining beside the lake

At the heart of the park, The Old Mill Bar & Restaurant provides a relaxed place for guests and lodge owners to meet, dine and enjoy the lakeside setting. The restaurant serves a varied selection of food and drink throughout the day, from breakfast and relaxed bistro dining to wood-fired pizzas, cocktails and takeaway options. Regular events also give guests and owners more opportunities to come together and enjoy life at the park.

Having somewhere welcoming to eat and unwind within walking distance of the lodges is an important part of the Stonerush Lakes experience, allowing visitors to enjoy an evening out without needing to leave the park.

A proud achievement for the whole team

The award recognises our beautiful setting, luxury lodges and exceptional guest experience. It is a wonderful reflection of the care, commitment and attention to detail shown by the Stonerush Lakes team. From looking after the park and its beautiful surroundings to maintaining the lodges and helping guests enjoy memorable stays, everyone has played a part in this achievement.

Silvano Geranio, owner said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be named Holiday Park of the Year in the Sykes Gems Awards. Personally, I feel incredibly proud to own a park that has received this recognition, but more than anything, I’m delighted for the team. It has been an incredibly challenging period for the holiday industry since Covid, and operating a resort like Stonerush Lakes is certainly not easy. There are so many moving parts and we don’t get everything right every time. What really matters is how you respond when something does go wrong, and that’s where our team is exceptional. They work incredibly hard to find solutions while continuing to be friendly, welcoming and hospitable.

We would also like to thank every guest who has stayed with us, recommended Stonerush Lakes or shared their experience. The feedback and support we receive help us continue developing the park while retaining the peace, character and personal experience for which it is known. Our lodge owners are also an important part of the Stonerush Lakes community, and we are delighted to share this recognition with everyone who has chosen to make the park their home from home.
