It’s October and well into the Autumn season where the true beauty of nature is an abundance of warm colours. It’s the season where you at times need to wrap up warm from the winds, but those long walks through the countryside provide a warm glow in your cheeks from the sheer wonderful vibrancy of the fallen leaves. Did you know that in fact it’s a time where the leaves actually show their true colours as they stop producing the chloryphill that provides the green pigment? (You can take that one to share with friends and family!)
But enough about that, Autumn isn’t just for putting on the boots and wrapping up in your newly purchased coat to explore the gorgeous Cornish countryside, (although very enjoyable that is, especially with the knowledge of a luxury lodge to come back to!) No, it’s also the perfect time for surfing and Cornwall is well known for having the perfect beaches to do just that, offering the best swells and waves!
So, whether you’re an expert or a novice, if staying in Cornwall this Autumn be sure to dip your toe in the water. The West coast have the best surfing beaches, head for Fistral, Perranporth and Newquay (just 1 hr drive from Looe and you get to experience more of Cornwall on your travels) to mention just a few, just make sure you get some expert advice on equipment and lessons, never go it alone! You never know – soon this could become a regular thing, bringing you back in the Spring for the next best surfing season.
So many think of the Summer as the best time for holidays, but Autumn is well and truly up there too. The children are back at school, it’s still a decent temperature to adventure outside and everywhere is just a little less crowded! In our opinion, it’s a season that should be used as a perfect break away setting. If you’re looking for chilled or adventure…there is plenty to explore, don’t leave the Autumn in the dark.
Keep safe, adventure outdoors, enjoy!
